Coach Liam

Sheffield Area Director

Fun fact: I have coached sports on 3 continents: Africa – Kenya. North America – California. Europe – Holland & England

As a Nottingham Forest supporter growing up in Derby, football has always been a fun topic!

I have loved playing football for as long as I can remember, from playing in the house with my dad; with mates at the park playing heads & volleys or playing curby on the street. Up until leaving Derby when I was 18 I played in Midfield for Spondon Dynamos F.C, Cheasapeak F.C and AFC Borrowash Victora.

I love playing all competitive sports and played county level Badminton whilst at school. During my GCSE’s I completed a Young Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching, and from there I started my coaching career through college and into university where I obtained a Degree in Sports Coaching at Sheffield Hallam. University was the best 3 years of my life, which may have affected my grade as I met a fantastic bunch of people and lived with 11 people in one house! Whilst at uni I started coaching kids football for Little Kickers.

In 2016 I ticked off my biggest bucket list entry by travelling whilst coaching “SOCCER” in sunny California for 5 months. Where if it rained for 5 minutes in the morning, football training would be cancelled that evening!?

Since starting my adventure at Little Messys in January 2017 I have met lots of amazing kids with crazy personalities, high energy and a passion for football which I had at their age. I believe everyone should be able to do what they enjoy no matter if they’re good at it or not, as long as you enjoy it… DO IT!

So, all I can do is make sure kids have as much fun as possible and hopefully teach them a football skill or two!

NOTHING can beat having your hobby for a job!
