Little Messy’s was formed in 2012 by our 2 original directors Daniel and Richard. Its original aim was to deliver sessions in Wakefield to fill a gap in the market for toddler football. After a year of success in Wakefield, it was decided to expand and bring the sessions to South Yorkshire. Although there were companies offering similar, we believed that we could offer a fresh and unique approach and offer a choice to parents, after all choice makes companies work harder to deliver a better service.
Doncaster was started in October 2013 and begin in Barnby Dun with 2 children in attendance. Since then the response from South Yorkshire has been phenomenal with more and more locations requesting sessions in their areas. It was such a conversation with a parent that Mega Messys was born. We had concentrated on 3 to 6 year olds, and had never thought there would be a need for a 6 to 10 year old session. But having started the first one at Askern, and with the success of it, we have since rolled this particular age range out to 3 other venues. The feedback we get from the local football teams we work with is great, and helps some of the children who aren’t as comfortable in a pressured team environment, to be able to develop their skills and then take them onto a team.
Unfortunately one of our founding directors, Richard, had to leave the business in early 2014. Since then we have been fortunate to have 2 individuals who believe in the same ideals, Dom and Kev, who have come on board to help deliver the sessions under the guidance of Daniel.
For us there is no better feeling than seeing a child smile because they are enjoying themselves and without actually knowing it, developing skills that they can take into later life, and aid their development at school.
Thanks to the success in South Yorkshire Daniel has now expanded even further into Leeds so that we can offer our unique fun to more and more children with the help of coach Dom who is driving this area forward.
Our sessions are run in a safe environment with FA qualified coached who hold enhanced CRB certificates. We believe our sessions shouldn’t be too big as we want all children to get involved in the sessions and want all children to get plenty of touches of the football.
But it’s not just the children who benefit. Parents can also develop friendships with other parents and helps make the Little Messy Family a unique place for everyone to enjoy.
